The Academy of General Dentistry recommends that you visit your dentist for a checkup at least twice a year. Your oral care needs may change as you age, or depending on the condition of your teeth and gums. Your dentist may suggest a checkup program that is more or less frequent than twice a year. Just like you should have an annual checkup at the dentist, your pet should also have a dental exam at least once a year.
Pets that are more prone to dental problems may need to see the dentist more often.
